About Linda DeVaughn

Linda creates from a place of passion, connection, and expression.

Linda retired from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in 2015. During the last fifteen years before retirement, her job included traveling to national and regional meetings in large cities all over the United States. During her downtime from meetings she visited many art galleries and museums. She was inspired by paintings that create a mood, emotion and atmosphere. Paintings that capture light, color and feeling. In addition, Linda and her husband Nathan have travel from the East Coast to the West visiting many National Parks, forest, and yes more galleries and museums. Linda has enjoyed taken thousands of photographs of her family and their travels, It was during this time, however, that a “new seed” was planted in her heart to paint. After working thirty-six years in a business administrative career, she is now able to pursue a “new passion” with her paint brush.

She began her art study with Artist Thomas Needham at the North Augusta Heritage and Art Center. She is a member of the North Augusta Art Guild serving on several committees. She is also a member of the “Created to Thrive” mentoring group with Matt Tommey. She attended and participated in Matt’s “Gathering of Artisans” and “Mastermind” in Asheville, N.C. Prior to the above activities, Linda acquired some knowledge and skills in palette knife oil painting by Artist Leonid Afremov online video program along with several other online artist teaching sites.

Linda’s work will be included in the 2018 “Fall into Art” show at the gallery of the North Augusta Heritage and Art Center.

Artist are trained to look closely at details of what we see in the natural world around us with our “natural” eye. Linda has found great inspiration and passion to also create and express images of what she sees in the spiritual world around us with “spiritual” eyes inspired by her relationship with God. The canvas allows me to have a “voice” and to share God’s great love and goodness. A “voice” to provoke deep thought and devotion.

Linda is currently working on a series of spiritual paintings inspired by songs and scriptures.

The “TAMBOURINE” in my paintings is a “symbolic’ representation of the moving, shaking, and vibration of the Holy Spirit that brings transformation to our lives.

Be sure and read the description for each piece of art to see how the Holy Spirit used art, music and scripture to speak to my heart. God plants seeds of divine inspiration inside our hearts that can be expressed in art and shared with others.

Come with me on this creative journey as I experiment with different mediums, styles and techniques.

You too can have a voice! I invite you to leave a comment about the art and how it speaks to you.

In addition, Linda is inspired and blessed by her husband Nathan, her children Tiffany, Gregory and Conor along with six grandchildren.
